Pregnancy and Women's Clinic
The Sloane Court Clinic has clinicians with experience and expertise in the assessment and treatment of women with psychiatric and psychological problems before, during and after pregnancy – perinatal / puerperal psychological problems, and in the management of women's mental health problems generally.
Service Objective:
The clinic is able to assess and manage symptoms and behaviours that affect women, before, during and after pregnancy as well as women’s general mental health problems.

Depression and mood disturbance before, during, and after pregnancy | puerperal depression | anxiety | anger | antenatal depression | postnatal depression | perinatal depression | depression | baby blues | maternal blues | antidepressant management | medication management issues | jealousy (including morbid jealousy | victims of different types of abuse | violence against women | domestic violence | deliberate self harm | post traumatic stress disorder PTSD | certain personality disorders | borderline personality disorder | emotionally immature personality disorder | emotional dysregulation | relationship dysregulation | behavioural dysregulation | persistent mood disturbance | behaviour requiring risk assessment | psychosis requiring medication or CBT | relationship and marital issues | sexual issues | alcohol issues | menopause issues | panic disorder | generalized anxiety disorder GAD | adjustment disorder.
The Pregnancy and Women’s Clinic services:
Psychiatric assessment and diagnosis | psychological assessment (personality, traumatic stress, anxiety, mood, anger, insight) | medication review and treatment before, during or after pregnancy | reports for court (civil, criminal, and family) | cognitive and neuropsychological assessment | assessment and formulation of problem behaviour and risk | psychological therapy (cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), person-centred, schema-focused, behavioural work, anger management, CBT for psychosis, couple therapy, EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing)) | risk assessment (violence, fixation, stalking) | treatment and advice to other practitioners, to family members, to carers, and to organizations | personal injury assessment | treatment after personal injury.
Staff:
The Pregnancy and Women’s Clinic is led by Dr Deborah Chee, consultant psychiatrist, in conjunction with other staff of the Sloane Court Clinic with specialist skills.
Contact and Appointments:
Referrals may be made by general practitioners, consultant psychiatrists, by letter, e-mail, our Contact Form, or through the general Sloane Court Clinic phone numbers, requesting the “Pregnancy & Women's Clinic”. Clinic times and appointment availability are broadly the same as the General Clinic times.
Patients are requested to seek referral through their GP, consultant, or solicitor though they are welcome to call the Clinic to make initial enquiries.
