Dr Howells and colleagues have especial experience in providing medico-legal opinion in personal injury cases, in family law cases, in employment tribunal/disability cases, and in certain criminal and forensic psychiatry cases.

Dr Howells and colleagues work within the new Legal Aid Authority (LAA) / Legal Services Commission (LSC) rates, where an instructed case is paid for by the LAA/LSC, otherwise the charges rates are as for their individually indicated charges in the "Terms and Charges" pdf against their names in the chart below..

The Sloane Court Clinic is able to provide court-directed treatment for a range of psychological and psychiatric conditions, some of which are listed in the Complex Cases / Forensic Psychiatry Clinic web page and in the Psychology section of the website.

Clinical Negligence. Dr Howells and colleagues at the Sloane Court Clinic do not undertake expert witness work in this area, but refer enquiries for this work to a colleague, Dr John Cutting, FRCPsych, emeritus consultant psychiatrist Bethlem Royal and Maudsley Hospitals, who has over 25 years experience in legal/medico-legal matters.
