Dr Robert Watson

Dr Robert Watson is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with the British Psychological Society and qualified in 2001 from University College London.

He has worked for the National Health Service in both adult mental health services in general psychological practice and sexual health/HIV. In these areas Dr Watson has worked as a psychologist, supervisor, manager and team leader and has extensive experience of providing supervision and consultation to health professionals providing psychological therapies.

He has expertise in a range of psychological therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and has undergone further specialist training in Cognitive Analytic Therapy.

His experience equips him to deal with a wide range of adult mental health problems, including depression, bereavement, self-harm, and personality disorder. It also means that he has specialist expertise in psychosexual problems such as impotence, helping people to adjust to HIV and other sexually transmitted infections, and to overcome the impact of sexual assault and trauma.

Dr Watson has written extensively for journals and other academic publications, and is a co-author of Living Confidently with HIV: A Self-help Book for People Living with HIV,
