Dr Dimitri Spiliotis

Dr Dimitri Spiliotis is a chartered counselling psychologist with the British Psychological Society and the Health Professions Council. He is a specialist psychologist in HIV and Sexual Health at Barts and the London NHS Trust. In addition, Dr Spiliotis is an associate lecturer at the Doctorate programme in Counselling Psychology at the University of Surrey.

He has worked in the National Health Service and at the Priory Hospital with adults presenting with moderate to severe psychological disorders including depression and anxiety-related disorders such as post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), generalised anxiety, phobic anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), and panic disorder.

He also has experience working within specialist services with people who were diagnosed with borderline and other types of personality disorder. He has particular interest in working with individuals who engage in self-harming behaviours, experience emotional dysregulation and long-standing relationship difficulties.

Dr Spiliotis has considerable research and clinical experience of HIV and sexual health.

Dr Spiliotis is trained in cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), mentalization-based treatment (MBT), person-centred therapy, and psychodynamic psychotherapy.
